Free Cleanout Application
✅ You (or someone you know) might benefit from a free clean out if...
-
You are overwhelmed by clutter or household tasks and don’t know where to begin — it’s affecting your daily life, safety, or peace of mind.
-
You are aging in place or recovering from illness and your home needs to be safer or more accessible to receive services like in-home care.
-
You have received warnings or fines from the city due to the condition of your home or yard, and need support to avoid further action.
-
You have been left in charge of a loved one’s estate or home and are unsure how to manage the belongings or prepare it for what’s next.
-
You have experienced a major life change — such as grief, a medical crisis, or financial hardship — and your home has become too much to manage alone.
Apply today for the quarterly clean out grants—no income limits or referrals required. In home assessments with resource lists and service providers are offered to every applicant regardless of approval.
✅ Safe & confidential

Application & Review Process: How It Works
The For Safer Spaces program offers one free cleanout per quarter to a local resident in need. This process is designed to be fair, compassionate, and transparent, with a focus on supporting long-term change and safety in the home.
📝 How to Apply
-
All applications must be submitted online using our intake form.
-
Applications must be self-reported—this means the person needing services must be aware of and agree to the application.
-
A friend, family member, or professional (such as a social worker) can help fill out the form, but the applicant must give consent and be willing to participate.
-
Incomplete or third-party applications submitted without the applicant’s consent will not be considered.
🔍 Initial Review & In-Home Consultation
-
Once your form is submitted, a volunteer will follow up within 2–3 business days to schedule an initial in-home assessment or consultation.
-
This visit allows us to understand your needs, offer additional resources, and assess readiness for services—even if you’re not selected for the free cleanout this quarter.
📅 Quarterly Review Process
-
Applications are reviewed by the Coalition four times per year (March, June, September, and December).
-
During these meetings, all current applications are evaluated and one household is selected based on:
-
Urgency of safety needs
-
Willingness to participate and follow through
-
Support systems in place (or lack thereof)
-
Number of services needed and available community resources
-
Coalition member availability for the cleanout project
-
Readiness and confidence to maintain progress
-
Fairness and need compared to other active applications
-
⚠️ Important Notes
-
This is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis or in danger, please call 911 or a local emergency resource.
-
Each cleanout includes donated time, equipment, and landfill fees. There is no monetary value, and the service is non-transferable.
-
If an applicant refuses services or is non-compliant with the plan, they may forfeit current and future eligibility.
-
Homeowners or renters must have active home insurance and accept liability for damages or risks. Service providers may require additional waivers.
-
All applicants will receive some form of support, even if not selected—this could include referrals, planning help, or guidance on how to move forward.
📧 Have Questions or Haven’t Heard Back?
